KMS California – UK Artistic Team Photo Shoot
Since my last update, the KMS California shoot has been one of the highlights of a very busy period, where I’ve been shooting and editing collections for the British Hair Awards.
The shoot brief was Luxury Undone, and it was a great opportunity to work closely with Sam Field and Irene Meikle from Goldwell / KMS. Once we’d been through the brief and moodboards together they invited me along for the casting – with over 80 girls and boys turning up on a very hot afternoon. It was not a normal casting, as we had to concentrate on how the four chosen models would work together visually and storywise.
The successful guy (Fletcher) was fabulous, to work with, as were the three girls. You’re can sometimes be more limited when shooting a guy as to where you can take the shoot with poses and expressions. So, to see him get into the feel straight away really set the pace of the shoot.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted this KMS California shoot on my website a few weeks ago – but here it is in full below.
Sam Field, PR and Communications Executive of KMS California said:
“I really enjoyed working with Jack on this project. It was the first shoot that KMS had put together in the UK and it was so important for us to get it right. Jack was involved with the team from start to finish, and it really showed in the results. He listened to what we wanted and I felt like he was part of the KMS team for a short while! I’m looking forward to working with him on next year’s shoot.”
KMS California www.kmscalifornia.com have given an exclusive to the trade magazine Salon Business with this collection, and we’ve been given a cheeky peek of the design layout – looks good! There is a launch party involving the shoot for 600 people at the start of August in Chelsea – will be fun!
Finally, there was a pretty cool video made from the day too – have a look for yourselves:
