Frequently Asked Questions – FAQ’s
Photographic sessions are the best way to engage your customers with the creative style and image of your business. I bring my experience in hair & beauty and fashion photography and develop a close working relationship with each client to achieve a collection of vivid and memorable images.
Do we need to hire a studio?
A studio is a great creative environment for a photographic session and can provide the space and inspiration for an exciting team dynamic. I can advise on different studios, depending on budgets and locations. If your business premises have a floor space of at least 12×24 ft, with a high ceiling, then this could be an option, although travel costs may apply.
How can we use the images?
You have a license to use the images for one year in British magazines and press and we can discuss options for distribution across Europe, USA and further afield.
The benefits of a professional shoot are beautiful collection of images that can be used creatively to maximize your business as large scale window designs, prints for the walls of your business, on your website, in brochures or as a powerful accompaniment to promotions in the local and national press such as the launch of a collection.
Apart from photography, what other services do you offer?
To help you get the most out of your shoot I can offer support and advice at every stage.
I have a dedicated creative team of makeup artists, clothing stylists and location finders and can consult of the hiring of models for your shoot. I am also experienced in skilled image re-touching, including skin and hair retouch, and advanced retouching.
We can take care of your print needs too – anything from photographic reprints, brochure printing, to huge classic window displays, to appointment cards. Design services are available on request and I work closely with a video making team that can produce a DVD of your day for your business.
How quickly can we get the images?
If there is a tight deadline, up to five images can be ready for the next day if enough notice is given, depending how much retouch is needed.
Images can be emailed full res to you via a safe website to send large files. And I can email you personally low res versions of the shots.
How will I receive the final images?
Depending on the type of shoot, you will get tiff format digital images, which are the highest quality images for magazine production. These will be put onto a CD for you, and an archive is made on my backup library systems should you need any copies in future.
Do you have your own equipment?
I use the latest medium format digital camera setup by Hasselblad. This is the photographic industry’s highest spec system and produces quality images that can be blown up to bill-board size. I shoot to a 17inch Apple Mac laptop, which ensures all the detail and colour can be seen perfectly.
I have my own lighting kit and am sponsored by Bowens, that features my work to advertise its lighting kits. I can hire in additional lighting to cater for specialist requirements.
What do your clients say about your work?
Sam Field, PR and Communications Executive of KMS California said:
“I really enjoyed working with Jack on this project. It was the first shoot that KMS had put together in the UK and it was so important for us to get it right. Jack was involved with the team from start to finish, and it really showed in the results. He listened to what we wanted and I felt like he was part of the KMS team for a short while! I’m looking forward to working with him on next year’s shoot.”
Robert Kirby, Sanrizz:
“I was so happy with the creative process Jack took us through, and the end result looks like something you see in Vogue magazine – high end editorial. It has turned out amazing.”
Mark Pearson (owner of Creator Hair), said:
“Having worked with Jack for many years we have developed a relationship that is both creative and professional. I have always found him easy to share ideas and creative concepts with, and for him to interpret them in the ways that I have imagined them. This years BHA entry: ‘The Fringe’, has got a different fringe for every shot. For ‘The Fringe’, we wanted to explore the feeling of an editorial shoot with the focus still being on the hair.”
Kris Bird, co-owner of Michael John:
“The JEP Team understood how important it was for us to project our work in the right way. The studio was great fun to work in and all my staff were enthused by the session for months. It was their vast experience and relaxed approach in the hair and fashion industry that gave us the confidence to commit to our first ever shoot.”
Steven Bywater, owner of Ettiene:”
As a salon owner I understand the value of good photography within the industry. With our business, image is everything. Jack Eames Photography exceeded our expectations on every level both on the day and with the final results.”
